Parent and Community Involvement

The Family Resource Center

The Russell Family Resource Center is a place where students, parents, community members and employees can find family-centered activities and resources that encourage parent and family involvement in Russell School. Staffed by Kelly Kopitzke, a Family Resource Specialist, the Center organizes activities such as literacy lunches, tutoring assistance, visits with principals', newsletters and more. The programs work to enhance and empower families and neighborhoods, teach leadership skills, provide support for at-risk youth and families, and reduce the need for preventive services in the community.

We hope you will stop by and visit the Russell Family Resource Center. Be sure to read the school newsletter for FRC news and a calendar of events. For more information about the FRC, call 728-2400, ext. 4846, or e-mail frcrussell@mcps.k12.mt.us.

FRC CLOTHES CLOSET

Free clothes for ages infant thru 5th grade.  Plastic bags available under the FRC sink.  When you're cleaning closets at home, please think to donate small clothes; we're always in need of size 4-6 sweatpants or size 4-10 girls pants.

Helping Hands

Listed on the FRC refrigerator are odd jobs that can be done if 15-30 minutes.  Washing toys, organizing the clothes closet, stapling the newsletter (1st of the month) - every little bit helps.  If you need documentation of your volunteer hours, please let Kelly know.

KNOCK AND WE'RE THERE!

Yes, the locked door is an inconvenience, but we can hear a knock.  Park in our back parking lot; Kelly is sitting right near the back door .
