Welcome to Big Sky High Schools,
Drama Department web page and home of the Way Off Broadway Theatre Co. Big Sky High School opened it’s doors in August 1980 and held aDedication Ceremony for the school on May 7, 1981. By then Big Sky was in Full operation with it’s Performing Arts and Sports programs. Since that first year of operation, the Big Sky High School Drama Department has produced over 100 full length productions. Classes offered through the drama department include Drama I - Introduction to Drama, Drama II, Drama III, Technical Theatre, and Film Studies & Film Making and new this year Movement for the Theatre.
Over the years, productions have included such plays as Scapino, Marty, The Miracle Worker, Children of a Lesser God, Noises Off, Bye, Bye, Birdie, The Foreigner, One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest, A Piece of My Heart, Slide Over, The Mouse Trap, To Kill a Mockingbird, Tomb with a View, and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Other productions include our annual Fall Cabaret Show featuring student written and directed works and the Spring Dance Concert. Big Sky High Schools Drama Department and Way Off Broadway Theatre Company continues to grow with the development of Student written/directed performances, and live film productions through MCAT – Missoula Community Access Television.
