. Don't forget to READ!!! Each student has an individual goal for the number of pages that they will read this term. They need to be reading 20 minutes per night at least!
The Nicaraguan Art Project has received special funding and has chosen Russell 5th graders to do a special poetry project. Over the course of 3 weeks they will lead us in writing individual poems, translating them into Spanish, then sharing them via Skype with a class of 5th graders in Nicaragua! They will in turn share their own poems translated into English with us! What a fabulous opportunity!
Reward trip to the Book Exchange and Dairy Queen on Friday, May 17th. The students will need to be three-fourths of the way to their reading goal by Wednesday, May 15th to be eligible to go!
End of year Band/ Orchestra Concert. Wednesday, May 29th 9:00AM here at Russell. The students will then travel by bus to give a concert at Chief Charlo and then to Jefferson School for lunch and instrument returns. They will be back at Russell at 12:15.
The students travel their future middle schools to meet the staff and become familiar with the building on Thursday, May 30th.
There is a bridge carnival for all incoming 6th graders and their familes on Friday, May 17th, at Meadowhill Middle School.
Wax Museum will be Friday, May 31st. We will set up the day before.
The last day of school is June 7th!!
