Mrs. Anderson's First Grade Website

Welcome to our class website; the portal to all our creative endeavors!

This site contains useful information regarding the day-to-day routine of our classroom. I am hoping it will become a useful resource for both students and parents. Though I will not be posting all daily assignme

nts, I do plan to outline the general schedule and post updates regarding special projects. Comments and suggestions are always welcome as I experiment with this new platform.

Our Daily Happenings

Thank you Mr. Bell!! Mrs. Nokleby is helping us show our creative side!

Our new gym teacher, Mr. Mettler, is teaching our kids the moves with our new Geomats in health class!

We have been having so much fun watching this owl ready her eggs for hatching. Warning though, this is a live feed to a barn owl who, of course, has a taste for mice. There are moments you may want to discourage your child from watching OR you may want to watch with your child and explain what is happening and why. Thanks for sharing in this experience with us!

If you need answers to questions you may have about our district, these are some useful starting places...

Teacher Resources

These are a few of the sites I refer to frequently for planning and inspiration.

My Education Wiki ~ This is where I've compiled many of the resources I used daily in my 5th grade classroom.

Laura Candler's File Cabinet ~ This is a site I have found which compliments our district curriculum very well. I use many of her activity ideas as ways to reinforce new lessons and to review mastered skills and strategies.

Discovery Education ~ I have found this site to be invaluable for both its tools and ideas. Standard based activities span across the curriculum and have been teacher tested and evaluated. (Parents and students ~ the puzzlemaker is a great place to create projects to support book reviews and Scotch Science Fair Central can be a great asset when planning your science fair project.)
