Mrs. Anderson's Fifth Grade Website

Mrs. Anderson.jpegWelcome to our class website; the portal to all our creative endeavors!

This site contains useful information regarding the day-to-day routine of our classroom. I am hoping it will become a useful resource for both students and parents. Though I will not be posting all daily assignments, I do plan to outline the general schedule and post updates regarding special projects. Comments and suggestions are always welcome as I experiment with this new platform.

Streaming .TV shows by Ustream
An amazing update on the hummingbird drama...she defends her eggs from a predator lizard and then returns to dispose of the unviable egg. Sad, but real. Watch closely for the lizard on the left.

Teacher Resources

These are a few of the sites I refer to frequently for planning and inspiration.

My Education Wiki ~ This is where I've compiled many of the resources I use daily in my classroom. (Parents~You can access many of the websites we use here. You will also find downloadable masters of spelling lists, grammar powerpoints, scoring rubrics, and book review prewriting forms.)

Laura Candler's File Cabinet ~ This is a site I have found which compliments our district curriculum very well. I use many of her activity ideas as ways to reinforce new lessons and to review mastered skills and strategies.

Discovery Education ~ I have found this site to be invaluable for both its tools and ideas. Standard based activities span across the curriculum and have been teacher tested and evaluated. (Parents and students ~ the puzzlemaker is a great place to create projects to support book reviews and Scotch Science Fair Central can be a great asset when planning your science fair project.)
