Early Childhood Screening

MCPS annually sponsors a "Child Find" screening at Jefferson School, 1700 South Avenue West, in Missoula. The event is free and screens children birth to age 5 for developmental problems in speech and language, vision, hearing, coordination, social and intellectual development, and general progress.

The screening for the 2011-2012 school year will be held Oct. 26-28. Specifically, the dates are:

• Wednesday, Oct. 26, 4-7 p.m.
• Thursday, Oct. 27, 3-7 p.m.
• Friday, Oct. 28, 8 a.m. to Noon

Screenings are free to those children living within MCPS Elementary District boundaries.  Please note that this screening does not determine kindergarten readiness. The screening takes about an hour. To learn more or schedule a screening, call Debbie Chilcote at 728-2400, ext. 1090.
